IIRC, if the passive xover is not crossing them at approx 2. Once you have your L-pad it is fitted between the crossover network and the driver in the same way as the crossover. Yes,cross it over high enough, and a lot of the harshness is removed,so shouldnt sound too bad That would be the first thing on my list of things to replace, however the above advice is sound. It’s always a question of balance.

Eminence PSD | Lyric
They were crossed over reasonably high, around 3. This means that when you put a full range signal through the box you get more top end than bottom end because for the same number of watts the eminnece is simply louder. Or maybe its the fact that its a cheepo x-over in the box?

Although never the best compression drivers, I always thought they were excellent value for money. You will probably find that the compression drivers he had in the boxes originally had a lower sensitivity the PSD IIRC, if the passive xover is not crossing them at approx 2.

I know the mids are cheap but i would prefer that to cheap tops considering my music choice, Sminence, tech-house, electro. Seems like they really arnt worth the effot so my new idea is to sell these cabs and build 2x X12’s loaded with Eminence Delta 12’s and Beyma cpnd once i can get the cash together and bi-amp them. Eminence have never made a descent sounding compression driver.

PSD’s are a bit agricultural. Cheers for the help Tom Edited by tcourtneyvincent – 08 September at 4: Basicly they sound mega harsh enless you eq out eminnece tops, therefore meaning that you dont get a flat responce, but, your ears arnt bleeding They always ended up as part of a balanced system.
Given the rated efficiency of the 15″ is around 95db and the psd eminencw around your going to need somewhere in the region of 9 or 10db of attenuation. Bms can be had for peanuts. You’ll probably need to adjust pad amount.
Is this just spd2002 its a budget driver? Or because he didnt replace the horns? The guy before me had replaced the compression drivers with more powerfull Eminence PSD’s but left them on the same horn.
With me it’s a full time job. Just trying to work out what would be the best next step in replacing bits intill i can get the funds together to start over again with a better brand.
Eminence PSD 2002-8
Maybe a bit of all off them? The solution to this is to use whats called an L-pad to reduce the amount of power going to the compression driver and thus reduce the amount of volume it produces to keep it in line with the much emijence efficient wminence driver.
You’re a big man, but you’re in bad shape. That would be the first thing on my list of things to replace, however the above advice is sound.

Yes,cross it over high enough, and a lot of the harshness is removed,so shouldnt sound too bad Now that really is harsh. Edited by JudgeDredd – 08 September at Psd0202 Tom Edited by tcourtneyvincent – 08 September at Work fine but not particularly pretty or refined. However, needs plenty of eq to sparkle above 10k, unlike de or cdx I used to buy these in their hundreds spd2002 stuff I sent to China.
Ello, I bought a pair of dap-audio rw’s a while ago.
