I always say one should not have any expansion cards and no USB extras when installing Windows. I was given a driver disc with the motherboard which just contained the HD Audio driver- which I installed, but the onboard sound isn’t being detected by Windows well, I can’t choose it anyway. The bad news is you wont have any good way to troubleshoot odd startup issues Try hooking up headphones or speakers to it, and see if it outputs anything during startup. Find the audio driver and download it. Did you per chance move the hard disk with Windows over from a different system? Answer questions, earn points and help others Answer questions.

Take a closer look at you’re motherboard. I have installed the MSI drivers for my video card. Or can it only handle 2 x 1Gb sticks??
Unless the manual states that there’s a pin header for this, then it probably doesn’t have it. So I gave up on that option.

I removed one of my two sticks and just like that, I rebooted and the High Definition Audio was discovered. I always say one should not have any expansion cards and no USB extras when installing Windows.

You might want to save the link to u’r favorites. I think your long boot up time and problematic installation might have to do with Windows not understanding your system. Okay, sorry for the now triple post- but I’ve solved my problem.
Also, I’m having a hard time getting fully up and running with sound. Hope you find this helpful! Not really anything that can be done, if it doesn’t support it.

In Device Manager, there’s no hardware unaccounted for so I’m a bit puzzled. You just buy a new video card and install it sothat it can be used at the same time it will gve you better mai cause the video nw works its own.
